funk” disco type music as well as a lot of smooth jazz and the obvious difference as well. This guy plays contemporary black American music centered around R&B and soul. Melody and musicality over rote technical fancy without any sense of swing or emotion. Need more clarinet players like him.

Eddie Daniels wouldn’t be a “smooth jazz” player in my book. Smooth Jazz to me is like Kenny G, Dave Koz……and Eddie is NOT that.
